Happy Birthday Kenny Loggins

Posted January 7th @ 11:10 pm by Gurt T. Luhrman

kl.jpgKenny Loggins (born Kenneth Clark Loggins on January 7, 1948) is an American singer and songwriter. (Wikipedia)

Loggins also wrote the song “What a Fool Believes” with Michael McDonald of the Doobie Brothers. Furthermore, he penned “Danny’s Song” and “A Love Song” for Anne Murray in the early 70’s.

Over the next decade, Loggins recorded many hit songs for movie soundtracks. This began with “I’m Alright” from Caddyshack. Hits followed with “Footloose” from the soundtrack of the same name, “Meet Me Halfway” from Over the Top, and “Danger Zone” and “Playin’ With The Boys”, from Top Gun. He also performed as a member of USA for Africa on the famine-relief fundraising single We Are The World.

The True Measure of Status

Posted December 24th @ 5:38 am by Mr Bagaki

You know you have reached ultimate fame when you can be found being impersonated on the internet. While we are not sure if this guy is a fan of Michael or is making fun of him, we are sure that this kinda Michael McDonald publicity is always welcome. If it wasn’t for the sweet sounds that flow from his “touched-by-GOD” vocal chords, I don’t know how I would fall asleep at night.

Correction

Posted October 30th @ 12:45 am by Gurt T. Luhrman

It was brought to the blog attention that the video game commercial toted to contain Phil Collins did indeed actually have the musical blessing of Foreigner. Please accept my deepest and dearest apologies on the matter of the mis-linked video. I now present to you the correct video, featuring Phil Collins. Oh Yeah!

Phil Collins Rocking It In New Video Game Trailer

Posted October 27th @ 2:47 am by Gurt T. Luhrman

This is the actual trailer released by the game developer. I didn’t know that Phil Collins was so popular amonst this games demographic, which I’m guessing is 16-25 year old males. Then again, what the hell do I know about video game marketing. All I know is that Phil Collins is rocking it in virtual digital form. What this world needs more left-handed drummer/lead singers.

Spam, MMMM Lots Of It

Posted October 25th @ 2:14 pm by Gurt T. Luhrman

I don’t really know what is going on lately but we have now broke the “we get spam posts hourly” category. Its a sign that things are growing here at the blog, at least that is what I am believing. Luckily the spam software I have installed does a great job from keeping the junk out of sight. I still hate scrubbing it though for legits.

I didn’t think that small paragraph above was really enough for this post so I have decided, effective immediately, that this post will contain LOTS OF BRIMLEY, BRIMLEY, BRIMLEY!!!!!

Michael McDonald - I Keep Forgettin’

Posted October 6th @ 1:06 pm by Gurt T. Luhrman

Whats up with how he is walking towards the piano in the beginning of the video. He is looking all around like he shouldn’t be there. Now who in their right mind would stop Michael McDonald from approaching a piano, especially to play this song. I mean, C’mon. Damn he is young in this video, and sexy too with his shirt undone down his chest and that beard from heaven.

And whats up with Zuul at the end of the video? Freaky

Summers on the beach are a wonderful thing. It looks likes this guy was running from a mob of women in bikini’s. That lucky guy. I guess it pays to be sexy. Nothing like the old David Hasselhoff run to attract the ladies, it seems to work.

Dustin Diamond - Where Did The Money Go

Posted July 28th @ 12:57 am by Gurt T. Luhrman

screech.jpgQuite a while back now I was informed of a website claiming the TV star Dustin Diamond was in the midst of loosing his house. I checked it out, thought “well maybe this is for real”. It is possible that he squandered the money he made back in the early ’90s or maybe his agent pissed it away.

The other day I re-visited the site to check on his situation, see if he raised the money needed to save his house. Well, 8 months later, he is still claiming that in one month his house will be gone to a group of developers. I call bullshit. I think this is just simply part of an online guerrilla marketing campaign to sell some t-shirts for a t-shirt company he probably has a stake in. He has actually updated the site now to include “virtual bricks” that can be purchased for $1000 USD for advertisements. He figures his site draws enough attention to attract advertisers to pay to be on it. His claim is “only 250 bricks are available”. Do the math and thats $250,000. This guy is trying to cash in. Well, here is news for ya, not gonna happen.

There is also a link for a site he must be developing called ratecomedy.com. I recommend checking it out just to see Screech in a bathtub full of mr bubbles. I like the beginning part of the clip where he describes himself as a celebrity. Gosh it must suck to be forever known as Screech from Saved By The Bell. I bet he even really farts in the tub.

Welcome to RateComedy.com the home for humor on the web, this site is not just a place to laugh and snicker, no, no, its much more than that, its a place to be creative and share ideas on funny. For this site is but a canvass with which you can paint your ideas and watch them take flight or watch them take a big steamy dump. After all lets face it, not every idea is a winner in the realm of laughter.

And if you have ever wondered about Mr. Richard Belding….
