November Giveaway, Better Than Last Year’s

Posted November 1st @ 7:21 am by Gurt T. Luhrman

31620_kermit_at_the_show_3.jpgOne year ago today we started a month long giveaway challenge. It sucked, no lies. Well this year I have decided (just now actually) that we are going to try this again. I have yet to get “permission” from “the boss” to do this, so if he doesn’t like it, I will personally pony up the cash for the prize.

THE GOAL

hmmm, why are we doing this. Well, readership is up, up, up, so I don’t think we need to give things away to attract new people. I guess it could be to reward our loyal readers, but…. how.

THE PLAN

I will concoct a giveaway game, but no one ever plays. I get three responses for 30 days, all by the same person. The more I type out my thoughts on this, the more I realize this just isn’t worth my time. I might just as well pick a random reader at a random moment from a random comment and give them something random.

So there it is, I might give something to someone for writing something on some blog for no real reason. If you would like to play, simply do nothing. Giveaways, ha, nothing is free you suckers… or maybe I’m the sucker.

November 2005 Giveaway Prize Denounced At Ceremony In Las Vegas

Posted December 22nd @ 7:36 pm by Gurt T. Luhrman

The winner of the November giveaway has officially denounced the prize, and refused acceptance. The set of used Thomas Kinkade signature candles was turned down during an awards ceremony last night at the Bagaki Grand Hall in Las Vegas. The recipient, whose name is being withheld, refused to accept the gift with the statement, “Thomas Kinkade’s work smells like fecal discharge, it stinks.” He then took the candles and threw them to the ground, shattering them on the marble floor.

In a rare moment, Mr. Bagaki broke into tears and yelled obscenities into the crowd of over 3500. “Mister Bagaki’s reaction to the insult was unjustified and [he] has expressed sincere regret and apology to the audience and to all of his members and fans” stated Lurble Reet, Bagaki’s spokesman. Reet continued, “We saw a man pushed to his limits, who eventually broke under the pressure please his members.”

Last night’s event has put the December Giveaway on hold indefinitely until a resolution can be had regarding the appropriateness of the awards. Mister Bagaki was unavailable for comment, as well as the intended recipient.

DECEMBER GIVEWAY 2005

Posted December 1st @ 7:02 pm by Gurt T. Luhrman

So, the November giveaway was a failure, partly due to our lack of planning for the event. The other reason it failed was, well, I guess we were the complete reason. Anyway, this month we have worked out a few of the bugs and will hopefully have a successful giveaway, because everyone likes free junk. So here is how this will work…..

Remember those birthday cards you received for our 5th birthday? Well, there is a little number on the back by the bar-code. This is your lucky number. We will be having a drawing and will select one of these numbers at random for this months prize. Since last month was a failure, we will be drawing two names for the giveaway.

This is how you enter. You will need to either comment on this post or email me (gurt at bagaki.com) with your name and your card number. It has been brought to our attention that at least one of the cards never reached it’s intended owner. We want to make sure everyone knows they are in the drawing.

The prize is currently not being announced.

NOVEMBER GIVEAWAY - WE HAVE A WINNER!!!

Posted November 17th @ 3:30 am by Gurt T. Luhrman

WE HAVE A WINNERSo the question and answer type giveaway system was a failure, that we know. What you might now know is who the winner of the November giveaway is. What you might also be wondering is how we decided who the winner would be. Well, we will leave that to your suspicions. All I can tell you is to keep watching for a discretely labeled bagaki.com package delivered to your door. If you are the lucky winner, congratulations, if you didn’t win this month, we will be re-vamping the monthly giveaway and you will have a better chance next month. Until then, enjoy this free bit of advice: “if bagaki.com is giving something away… you probably don’t want it”

NOVEMBER GIVEAWAY - QUESTION 2

Posted November 8th @ 1:02 am by Gurt T. Luhrman

During the first three years of bagaki.com, oh fuck it… We just simply cannot think of any good questions to ask our readers that would be both fun to answer and worth your time. Instead, we will be formulating a new method of distributing the wonderful AUTOGRAPHED candles we are giving away in November. Check back for just how we decide to do so.

Next month, we will have this figured out and will provide a much more enjoyable giveaway experience.

NOVEMBER GIVEAWAY - QUESTION 1

Posted November 1st @ 5:18 pm by Gurt T. Luhrman
