Getting bored at work this early in the week? Looking for something to waste a few minutes between lunch and second break? Do I have to answer for you. Imagine you are driving a mad-max type vehicle that is indestructible and you need to get bombed to attack. Doesn’t make much sense I suppose, so try it out. I made it to ~ 1800 points and a 21 combo but then ran out of fuel because I didn’t know I had to “touch down” in order for them to count. I figured it would just go to the next level. Was I wrong. Since I had already wasted 20 minutes with the game I wasn’t’ about to try to top my score (again). Definitely a time waster.

Boxhead

The game where you kill zombies that look like you but are a different color. You have a boxhead and all of the regular weapons: pistols, shotguns, uzi, grenades, and explosive barrels. Good for a few minutes of “am I really getting paid for this”. A timeless classic, it reminds me of a basic version of one of my favorite arcade games: Smash TV

Sober Santa

One of my favorite games out there. It will test your dexterity and patience. Pretend it is Christmas in March and see how loaded you can get the jolly fellow before you stumble off the roof. My best was 1265, something I’m proud of. Anything above 1000 points and this fat bastard is out of control. The key is to try to keep him in the center of the building, at least that what I tried doing. Too bad he’s drinking champaign, I always pictured Santa as more of a vodka guy, cheap vodka.

So you are in the office/cubicle/lab/production floor/bed with the neighbors wife/bed with the neighbors husband/bed with the neighbors dog and you realized that today is Friday and that you are going to do as little work as possible as long as you have a say in it. Planning the weekend getaway to the cabin/office/drunko-land/neighbors house is stealing most of your attention. But wait, isn’t Friday the day where a man named Gurt T Luhrman posts fun games on his blog? Well sure it is, and today is your lucky day.

Russian Puzzle

The challenge is to fit the five pieces into the square. The pieces can touch, but they may not overlap. Use the mouse and click and drag to move the pieces. To rotate a piece, press the SHIFT button, and then click the mouse button.

Castle Smasher

Try your hand at this classic game of castle smashing goodness. Chuck your rocks and see if you can beat the score of 525. I lost due to some pussy ass knights protecting my catapult. Those guys suck. Thats the last time I trust my catapult to knights. Next time I’m definitely using ninjas, they are the real heros.

I sometimes enjoy the retro game, I was actually playing Road Rash 3 for the Genesis the other night. I had never played it and thought I would give it a shot. Synopsis: you ride around on a sport bike and beat your opponents with a pipe, fist, or chain - just don’t hit that deer lying with its babies IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD!!!

But what happens when you just can’t get enough gaming. When you are a gaming madman who needs the ultimate gaming pad. Well, you build it of course. Kotaku has a few prime examples of game room madness. Now if that isn’t to you liking then do I have the ULTIMATE in portable TV based videogame goodness. Imaging a NES controller that could play dozens of games by simply plugging it into the TV. Well this guy did, and made one for his girlfriend. The NES in a controller. Pretty sweet.

“But what can I play on the computer today at work?” you ask me, what do I have to entertain the masses on their mid-afternoon break? How…. about…. WARCRAFT!!!!

I ran across this game last night and a few hours later I went to bed. This addicting flash based game is a great distraction for anyone who enjoys games or simply wasting some of the company’s time.

This game will waste some time for sure. A really pretty futuristic game filled with puzzles and cool sound effects. Guaranteed to waste your boring Friday afternoon without even knowing it. You can always check out the original if you like, Samorost. My advice is to start clicking.

3rd World Farmer

If you are looking for something a little more simulation based this is your game. While I was able to make it 21 rounds before my entire family died, I was never able to raise elephants for money. Good luck, you will need it here.
