This is the current commercial for the video game Gears of War. This is currently one of the big games out for the xbox 360. I wanted to get some reader feedback on the commercial and the choice of music for the game. This is a first person shooter where you are fighting aliens for some reason, I’m guessing to save the world… like all FPS games. Anyway, the music is quite epic for the scenes and I wanted to know if you think it is fitting for such a game commercial or not. Many people across the net seem to think it fits quite well.
The song for those interested is by Gary Jules and is called Mad World. This version is actually performed by Michael Andrews and is taken from the Donnie Darko soundtrack. This was originally a Tears for Fears song.

I first saw this commercial and I thought it was excellent! The song is great and I think that it makes the commercial. The marketing people could have gone with something harder or more edgier, but this song tells the story! It would not persuade me to buy an Xbox 360 not unless I could get it for under $200. But I am a cheap bastard!

Cool commercial but I still want a wii. I have been playing the same old type of video games for too long. Right now, Microsoft really needs to push now to capture some of the market while sony is down. I mean come on who launches a $600 console when you can buy both of your competitors for under that price.

the wii is a little more than $249 if you think about it.
total Wii costs is like this…
Console: $249
3 additional controllers with nunchuck = $180
component video cable ~$40
total cost = $470
so not as cheap as you are lead to believe. sure you can go without the controllers or the high-quality video cable, but thats about the equivalent of watching blind men play baseball. its fun for a while, but then you get bored.

Don’t forget the plasma TV $1500 with a $250 replacement plan for when you or a guest accidentally lets the wiimote slip, sending it flying into your tv smashing it to pieces.
I actually heard of this happening seems people were working up a sweat and not using the lanyard to connect the wiimote to their wrists. Crazy.
