Browser Wars 2006

Posted October 25th @ 10:43 am by Gurt T. Luhrman

If you have been living under a rock or are still using Windows 3.11 then you probably don’t know that the (second) browser war has been heating up for some time. For those of you not aware that Firefox and Internet Explorer have BOTH been updated, they have!!

firefox-logo.jpgMozilla just released Firefox 2.0. I have been using it for a few days without any problems. A few of my extensions didn’t work, but just today 2 of them were updated to be compatible. The coolest new feature is the built-in spell check for online forms. (This is worth the upgrade itself)

ie7logo.gifMicrosoft just released Internet Explorer 7.0. Honestly I cannot comment too much on this update. I know there are tabs and the new IE is more like Firefox or Opera but other than that. My concern with IE7 is computability with sites. I don’t know if it breaks sites. From what I hear though, the security updates are worth it, if you like a secure system. I am waiting to upgrade this browser, but then again I don’t ever use it so…

This boy, Falecki Igor, is supposedly 4 years old. He lives in Poland. I guess he isn’t too bad, for his age.

Tuesday’s Crap

Posted October 24th @ 7:42 am by Gurt T. Luhrman

eye poppingLets begin the day with many-o-fun links. A few descriptions, and some time-wasting goodness. What better way than with a google search for eye popping. Ick, and I wonder why African Americans seem to be able to do this better than EVERYONE else. Now lets wonder off to battle front where advertising is invading hand-dryers. How fun. And finally, lets take a stroll down videogame lane and play a game of benevolent assassination.

You may now begin working.

Chet’s Cogitation: Ummm, I Guess For Today

Some people say a picture is worth a thousand words. I like to say a picture is worth three apple pies, but they have to be really good pies.

5:54AM, Damn It, I Can’t Sleep

Posted October 24th @ 5:54 am by Gurt T. Luhrman

Well, that was an ambitious try. I thought maybe I could squeeze in a few more hours of beauty rest and still be up for the 8:00AM fire drill. It looks like today is going to be a long day. I’m thinking afternoon nap. But hey, now its coffee time, and that is always fun time. Welcome to work, please fuck off for the first 20 minutes checking email and various news sites. Thank you for working for bagaki.com.

5:22AM, Aah F__k It, I’m Going Back To Bed

Posted October 24th @ 5:22 am by Gurt T. Luhrman

Now that many of you have already hit your first round of snooze alarms, I feel that my time with you is now drawing to an end. As many of you are about to begin your fabulous day, I feel it is really in my personal interest not to be a part of it. On that note, I plan to lumber back to sleep, but don’t worry, I’ll be up before your second morning break.

Have a wonderful day.

Yours Truly,

5:14AM, Wakey Wakey

Aaaaah. Isn’t it a grand ol day already. You are tired still, not real excited about work today (and its only the second day of the work week, ouch), and that rash is back. Good morning to all, good morning happy planet. Welcome to hell.

4:47AM, At The Cusp Of The Waking Hour

Posted October 24th @ 4:47 am by Gurt T. Luhrman

I am now on the verge of what many of you consider “time to wake up”. I have never been able to understand the concept behind the alarm clock. Well, I understand the obvious one, to wake someone up, but more specifically behind the way in which an alarm clock wakes you up. Does the horridly loud and scary sound stem from medieval times or possibly earlier when self-preservation was at utmost concern, defending for your life . Although that really doesn’t make sense because why would someone set an alarm to wakeup to a fight.

I think people really wouldn’t mind the alarm clock as much if it wasn’t such a rude way to wake up. Make it nice to make them happy.

4:21AM, Warm Newcastle Still Better Than Cold Bush Light

Posted October 24th @ 4:32 am by Gurt T. Luhrman

I have reached the life changing conclusion that a warm Newcastle, the very same Newcastle I opened before I was accosted by sleep early last night, still tastes better than a cold Bush Light. This revelation comes as I welcome in what I believe to be a crazy day. I don’t know why I am “this awake” this early, but I can tell something is going to happen today.

What Actually Happens At 4:03 AM On A Tuesday Morning

Posted October 24th @ 4:14 am by Gurt T. Luhrman

So this is what its like when you fall asleep at 8:30pm. Its now 4:07AM, I’m wide awake for the day and I still haven’t taken off my socks from the previous day. Ooooops. Well, I guess I needed the rest. (What a weekend hey!!!) So what better way to celebrate an early day than with a bottle of warm beer and some good old fashioned blogging. If my calculations are correct, I should have several posts posted before many of you wake for the day.

On a side note, the terminal access computer I have setup in my bedroom has a fan going haywire inside of it. It is becoming dreadfully loud and sometimes starts vibrating to the point where it actually woke me up during my rest last night. I thought it was a jet outside of my window spinning up the turbines. Jeez did I jump. I think this was about midnightish. Its pretty funny now that I think about it. I sat up in bed, still sleeping for the most part, and started looking around. It took me a few moments to realize what the sound actually was and where it was coming from. I bet I looked insane. Well, more than I already am.

Have a great day
